Breeder Support

We believe in supporting those breeding great dahlias. Whilst there's no formal legal requirements to acknowledge a dahlia breeder, aside from a PBR (which is prohibitively costly for micro-breeders), we believe that a simple royalty payment can go a long way. 

As a dahlia cultivar can be cloned by division with ease in just one season of growth, breeders are usually only able to receive financial support for the initial time of selling a cultivar, though a grower may subsequently go on to sell hundreds of tubers over the seasons. We believe that it's possible to support breeders and the often against-the-odds nature of farming and tending to new cultivars. 

This breeder royalty payment is for those who sell tubers or cuttings of our Everbloom dahlia cultivars and want to voluntarily contribute a donation towards our dahlia breeding. 

We usually pay $1-2 and up to 10% per tuber/cutting sold and we encourage all other tuber sellers to do so when possible, as part of a growing trend to support breeders in this way.

Since 2024 we have paid royalties to as many of the dahlia breeders whose cultivars we sell, as possible and we appreciate your financial support now with our breeding programs if you have sold our cultivars.
